Diet
Cheetahs are meat eaters and their favorite food is Thompson's Gazelle.
They will also eat antelope, birds, rabbits, baby warthogs, and other animal babies. They hunt by finding a high spot, like a termite mound, to be able to see their prey. They sometimes hunt in groups of young, related males.
They use their tremendous speed to catch their food. When they catch their prey, instead of biting it, they grab it by the neck, grasp its windpipe, and suffocate it.
If they don't have any cubs, they eat every 2-5 days. If they do have cubs, they eat every day. They eat very fast because they are not strong enough to hide their kill from other animals that might steal it.
